KKAP in latest edition of Archaeology Ireland!

The Summer 2009 edition of Archaeology Ireland includes a paper Cóilín Ó Drisceoil, John Bradley, Richard Jennings, Leah McCullough and John Healy that summarises the key results of the Kilkenny Archaeological Project. Archaeology Ireland is available from Rothe House, Kilkenny and all good bookstores.

Kilkenny at the time of the charter

As part of the celebrations to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the Kilkenny city charter, Kilkenny Campus (NUI Maynooth) will host a conference on Kilkenny at the time of the charter on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th June at the Parade Tower, Kilkenny Castle.

Prof. Colm Lennon, Dr. Tom O’Connor and Mr. John Bradley from the Dept. of History, NUI Maynooth, will join local Kilkenny historians and archaeologists to examine different aspects of the city in 1609 when the charter was granted. Cóilín Ó Drisceoil of the Kilkenny Archaeological project will be presenting a paper which uses the results of the project to throw light on the archaeology of the city at the time of the charter.
